Many People Contribute to the Work of AMA Mexico
AMA Mexico is staffed entirely by volunteers who support the work of The Nuevo Vallarta Sea Turtle Preserve.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life and contribute in many different ways. Trained Bahia de Banderas residents engage visitors with “turtle talks” every night during hatchling liberations and work at the Preserve. Local high school and university students go on night patrols to pick up, relocate and take care of the turtles’ nests. Artists donate their work to our annual Arts for the Turtles fundraising events. And partnering organizations like Starbucks, Ocean Terrace Condominiums, Bahia del Sol Resort, and The Harkness Institute provide volunteers on a regular basis. Our Board of Directors is made up of local and international professionals who are committed to the conservation of the Bay of Banderas and its sea turtle population.
OCEAN TERRACE CONDOMINIUMS SPONSOR NEW INCUBATION CORRAL!
Thanks to the generosity of Ocean Terrace Condominium homeowners, the new Incubation Corral at Nuevo Vallarta Sea Turtle Preserve’s headquarters will hold 1,300 endangered Olive Ridley Sea Turtle nests beginning in 2012. Many thanks to volunteer project leaders Keith Leffler and Scott Granger for making this important contribution to saving the turtles possible!
MANY, MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO VOLUNTEERS FOR THE TURTLES
