Many People Contribute to the Work of AMA Mexico
AMA Mexico is staffed entirely by volunteers who support the work of The Nuevo Vallarta Sea Turtle Preserve.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life and contribute in many different ways. Trained Bahia de Banderas residents engage visitors with “turtle talks” every night during hatchling liberations and work at the Preserve. Local high school and university students go on night patrols to pick up, relocate and take care of the turtles’ nests. Artists donate their work to our annual Arts for the Turtles fundraising events. And partnering organizations like Starbucks, Ocean Terrace Condominiums, Bahia del Sol Resort, and The Harkness Institute provide volunteers on a regular basis. Our Board of Directors is made up of local and international professionals who are committed to the conservation of the Bay of Banderas and its sea turtle population.
OCEAN TERRACE CONDOMINIUMS SPONSOR NEW INCUBATION CORRAL!
THE LONG- AWAITED INCUBATION CORRAL AT OCEAN TERRACE CONDOMINIUMS IS FINALLY COMPLETE, JUST IN TIME FOR THE 2012-13 HIGH SEASON!
And the turtles have started arriving…….
Thanks to the generosity of Ocean Terrace homeowners, we’re welcoming a new day for the Nuevo Vallarta Sea Turtle Preserve. The state-of-the-art Incubation Corral is the brain child of the OT Turtle Committee led by Keith Leffler and two months of daily on-site supervision by Scott Granger.
You can expect to see and hear more about them at the November Corral inauguration event!
MANY, MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO VOLUNTEERS FOR THE TURTLES
